Join us for the Commonwealth Local Government Young Professionals Forum to mark the International Year of Youth 2011

January 18th, 2011

We’re seeking applications to participate in the Commonwealth Local Government Young Professionals Forum (CLGYPF) taking place on 13th – 15th March, 2011, at City Hall, Cardiff, Wales, UK, marking the International Year of Youth 2011.  The twoday international forum will explore the role of local government in assisting young people to be agents for Local Economic Development (LED) through enterprise and political engagement.

The forum, which will be held immediately in advance of the Commonwealth Local Government Conference (CLGC) 2011, will bring together young professionals and entrepreneurs working in local government or local enterprise across the Commonwealth. Following the forum, there is an opportunity to attend the main conference on Energising local economies: partnerships for prosperous communities, 15th -18th March.

If you have an interest in international development and or the youth agenda, I’d like very much to hear from you . I understand that some of you will have left your local government/ parliamentary positions but this doesn’t matter, you will still be eligible. The one stipulation is that you must be 18 by the time of the event. The hotel accommodation is covered and the event is free, but there is an opportunity for you to apply for financial assistance for travel should you require it. The event is by invitation only so there is an application process, I have attached the form and full details of the event.
