There are a wide variety of writing, film and photography competitions organised by Commonwealth organisations. Why not give them a go?

The Royal Commonwealth Society‘s Young Commonwealth Competitions are open to anybody under the age of 30 living in the Commonwealth.

Essay Competition – Every year, the Commonwealth Essay Competition inspires thousands of young writers from all over the world. This international youth writing contest has been running for over 100 years – the world’s oldest and largest – and is a highly regarded and popular international education project. Photographic Awards – The only Photographic Prize of its kind reaching every country in the Commonwealth, the Photographic Awards has been running since the 1990s and has drawn together hundreds of young photojournalists and photographers every year. Click here for more info.

Jubilee Time Capsule

The RCS is also assembling the world’s biggest online time capsule that will cover each day of the last 60 years of the association. This is a people’s history from all over the Commonwealth. Open to people of all ages, the RCS wants to hear from you – your stories, videos, photos, drawings, music – as to what was important to you, your family or your country in the last 60 years.
